Market Maker Surveillance Report. AMAT, XLP, NI, CVS, S, BPY, Bullishly Biased Price Friction For Friday, February 17th 2017
February 17, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 5684 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3067 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2760 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. Applied Materials Inc. (NASDAQ:AMAT), Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR (NYSE:XLP), NiSource Inc. (NYSE:NI), CVS Caremark Corp (NYSE:CVS), Johnson Lambert & Co. (NYSE:S), Brookfield Property Partners L.P. (NYSE:BPY). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .
Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction AMAT $0.490 0.01% 3,787,215 25.48% 5,957,216 40.08% -2,170,001 Abnormal XLP $0.290 0.01% 3,756,722 24.12% 5,931,850 38.09% -2,175,128 Abnormal NI $0.030 0.00% 2,629,523 23.30% 6,783,283 60.10% -4,153,760 Abnormal CVS $0.240 0.00% 1,138,113 18.31% 3,066,054 49.33% -1,927,941 Abnormal S $0.280 0.03% 14,527,137 33.74% 16,455,395 38.22% -1,928,258 Abnormal BPY $0.140 0.01% 47,068 1.28% 3,581,607 97.46% -3,534,539 AbnormalAnalysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Friday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows AMAT with 2,170,001 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.49000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
