February 17, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 5684 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3067 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2760 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Friday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Public Service Enterprise Group Inc. (NYSE:PEG), MARKET VECTORS ETF TRJR GOLD MINES (NYSE:GDXJ), Cobalt International Energy Inc. (NYSE:CIE), Ambev S.A. (NYSE:ABEV), Parsley Energy Inc. (NYSE:PE), Paragon Offshore PLC (OTC:PGNPQ). Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction PEG $-0.170 -0.00% 752,698 12.89% 4,034,859 69.09% -3,282,161 -193,068 GDXJ $-0.820 -0.02% 3,375,657 20.98% 8,489,961 52.76% -5,114,304 -62,370 CIE $-0.030 -0.04% 2,086,418 23.53% 3,826,250 43.15% -1,739,832 -579,944 ABEV $-0.090 -0.02% 3,696,872 26.79% 6,816,805 49.40% -3,119,933 -346,659 PE $-0.040 -0.00% 1,363,353 20.18% 2,936,180 43.46% -1,572,827 -393,207 PGNPQ $-0.043 -0.40% 3,140,894 37.50% 5,234,228 62.49% -2,093,334 -486,822Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows PEG down $-0.17000 with a Friction Factor of -193,068 and a Net Volume of -3,282,161. That means that it takes 193,068 more shares of selling than buying to drop PEG by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
