February 3, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 5180 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4533 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1816 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Friday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Financial Select Sector SPDR (NYSE:XLF), iShares MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (NYSE:EEM), SPDR S&P 500 (NYSE:SPY), Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE), iShares MSCI Canada Index Fund (NYSE:EWC), Weatherford International Ltd. (NYSE:WFT). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  XLF $0.410 0.02% 30,007,547 34.78% 22,701,728 26.31% 7,305,819 178,191
  EEM $0.230 0.01% 13,922,379 40.58% 9,972,071 29.07% 3,950,308 171,753
  SPY $1.570 0.01% 24,418,270 30.38% 20,058,499 24.96% 4,359,771 27,769
  PFE $0.360 0.01% 14,339,025 39.95% 8,359,353 23.29% 5,979,672 166,102
  EWC $0.100 0.00% 8,480,758 85.49% 693,052 6.99% 7,787,706 778,771
  WFT $0.380 0.07% 23,187,277 38.95% 19,400,028 32.59% 3,787,249 99,664
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows XLF with a Net Buy Volume of 7,305,819 shares and a Friction Factor of 178,191 shares. That means that it takes 178,191 more shares of buying than selling to move XLF higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Friday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
