February 3, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 5180 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4533 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1816 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Friday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Benitec Biopha (NASDAQ:BNTC), Xplore Technologies Corp (NASDAQ:XPLR), Pernix Therapeutics Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:PTX), Power Solutions International Inc. (NASDAQ:PSIX), Pulmatrix Inc. (NASDAQ:PULM), PDI Inc. (NASDAQ:IDXG). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  BNTC $-1.150 -0.31% 1,058,282 36.83% 1,139,523 39.66% -81,241 -706
  XPLR $-0.400 -0.15% 58,842 33.05% 63,668 35.76% -4,826 -121
  PTX $-0.480 -0.16% 288,543 35.84% 351,554 43.66% -63,011 -1,313
  PSIX $-4.500 -0.60% 535,795 35.14% 629,094 41.25% -93,299 -207
  PULM $-1.120 -0.22% 6,350,131 37.26% 6,802,766 39.92% -452,635 -4,041
  IDXG $-1.080 -0.25% 552,701 37.29% 643,425 43.42% -90,724 -840
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows BNTC with a dollar loss Friday of $-1.15000 and a Friction Factor of -706 shares. That means that it only took 706 more shares of selling than buying to move BNTC lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
