December 30, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 5339 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2902 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3800 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Friday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. ImmunoGen, Inc. (NASDAQ:IMGN), Americann Inc. (OTC:ACAN), PROMETIC LIFE SCIENC (OTC:PFSCF), PetroGas Co (OTC:PTCO), BioAmber Inc. (NYSE:BIOA), Jason Inc. (NASDAQ:JASN). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  IMGN $0.450 0.29% 6,517,969 39.65% 6,392,020 38.88% 125,949 2,799
  ACAN $0.810 0.29% 155,632 57.92% 109,806 40.87% 45,826 566
  PFSCF $0.239 0.17% 86,443 64.11% 45,119 33.46% 41,324 1,728
  PTCO $0.250 0.21% 349,017 64.13% 190,344 34.98% 158,673 6,347
  BIOA $0.810 0.17% 157,456 43.24% 145,607 39.98% 11,849 146
  JASN $0.260 0.17% 108,267 49.09% 74,037 33.57% 34,230 1,317
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows IMGN with a dollar gain Friday of $0.45000 and a Friction Factor of 2,799 shares. That means that it only took 2,799 more shares of buying than selling to move IMGN higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
