January 3, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5326 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4401 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1996 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. iShares MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (NYSE:EEM), Johnson Lambert & Co. (NYSE:S), Industrials Select Sector SPDR (NYSE:XLI), iShares iBoxx $ High Yield Corporate Bond Fund (NYSE:HYG), MARKET VECTORS RUS ETF (NYSE:RSX), Dniprogaz JSC (NYSE:DGAZ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  EEM $0.420 0.01% 15,719,425 23.68% 23,257,833 35.03% -7,538,408 Abnormal
  S $0.100 0.01% 7,597,738 31.51% 10,283,091 42.65% -2,685,353 Abnormal
  XLI $0.400 0.01% 3,956,674 14.17% 11,631,157 41.65% -7,674,483 Abnormal
  HYG $0.360 0.00% 3,230,946 19.93% 5,262,959 32.46% -2,032,013 Abnormal
  RSX $0.400 0.02% 3,983,760 24.25% 5,970,573 36.34% -1,986,813 Abnormal
  DGAZ $1.000 0.33% 24,998,453 23.35% 28,551,007 26.67% -3,552,554 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Tuesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows EEM with 7,538,408 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.42000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
