December 20, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5515 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3583 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2700 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Tuesday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR (NYSE:XLP), Cisco Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO), Vanguard Total Bond Market ETF (NYSE:BND), Northwest Biotherapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ:NWBO), Firesteel Resources Inc (NASDAQ:FTR), New York Community Bancorp Inc. (NYSE:NYCB). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  XLP $-0.100 -0.00% 4,338,126 27.63% 6,950,821 44.27% -2,612,695 -261,270
  CSCO $-0.190 -0.01% 4,747,808 27.65% 7,492,945 43.63% -2,745,137 -144,481
  BND $-0.030 0.00% 1,303,614 22.20% 3,152,269 53.69% -1,848,655 -616,218
  NWBO $-0.138 -0.28% 5,792,000 40.80% 8,000,379 56.35% -2,208,379 -160,609
  FTR $-0.120 -0.03% 5,307,032 32.99% 7,165,896 44.54% -1,858,864 -154,905
  NYCB $-0.550 -0.03% 8,292,421 28.54% 10,208,739 35.14% -1,916,318 -34,842
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows XLP down $-0.10000 with a Friction Factor of -261,270 and a Net Volume of -2,612,695. That means that it takes 261,270 more shares of selling than buying to drop XLP by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
