December 19, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 5566 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3201 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3156 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Monday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Stone Energy Corp (NYSE:SGY), Globalstar Inc (NYSE:GSAT), PetroGas Co (OTC:PTCO), SPORT ENDURANCE (OTC:SENZ), Loxo Oncology (NASDAQ:LOXO), Zosano Pharma (NASDAQ:ZSAN). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  SGY $2.170 0.28% 1,486,879 37.71% 1,428,140 36.22% 58,739 271
  GSAT $0.290 0.28% 15,056,165 39.82% 14,083,354 37.25% 972,811 33,545
  PTCO $0.266 0.31% 566,637 61.57% 351,139 38.15% 215,498 8,117
  SENZ $0.260 0.22% 65,400 56.60% 50,100 43.36% 15,300 588
  LOXO $6.950 0.26% 974,295 39.53% 825,463 33.50% 148,832 214
  ZSAN $0.200 0.22% 272,564 38.21% 266,631 37.37% 5,933 297
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows SGY with a dollar gain Monday of $2.17000 and a Friction Factor of 271 shares. That means that it only took 271 more shares of buying than selling to move SGY higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
