December 8, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 5580 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3895 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2621 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Thursday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (NASDAQ:CMTL), ANTRIABIO Inc. (OTC:ANTB), Seanergy Maritime Holdings Corp (NASDAQ:SHIP), Diana Containerships Inc. (NASDAQ:DCIX), Horizon Pharma PLC (NASDAQ:HZNP), Xactly Corp (NYSE:XTLY). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  CMTL $-2.200 -0.17% 938,829 34.82% 1,021,291 37.88% -82,462 -375
  ANTB $-0.210 -0.16% 46,536 49.67% 46,966 50.13% -430 -20
  SHIP $-0.950 -0.43% 5,921,293 41.54% 6,621,510 46.45% -700,217 -7,371
  DCIX $-0.440 -0.16% 367,377 38.10% 438,554 45.48% -71,177 -1,618
  HZNP $-4.350 -0.22% 11,342,131 38.54% 11,441,719 38.88% -99,588 -229
  XTLY $-3.850 -0.28% 82,978 32.70% 95,296 37.55% -12,318 -32
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows CMTL with a dollar loss Thursday of $-2.20000 and a Friction Factor of -375 shares. That means that it only took 375 more shares of selling than buying to move CMTL lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
