December 6, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5350 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4042 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2271 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. eBay Inc. (NASDAQ:EBAY), Symantec Corporation (NASDAQ:SYMC), Cisco Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO), Barrick Gold Corporation (NYSE:ABX), HomeStreet Inc. (NASDAQ:HMST), Market Vectors Gold Miners ETF (NYSE:GDX). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  EBAY $-0.140 -0.01% 4,399,447 42.73% 3,125,689 30.36% 1,273,758 Abnormal
  SYMC $-0.150 -0.01% 5,867,115 53.75% 3,457,496 31.67% 2,409,619 Abnormal
  CSCO $-0.170 -0.01% 9,544,039 36.64% 8,286,699 31.81% 1,257,340 Abnormal
  ABX $-0.220 -0.01% 7,587,307 43.88% 5,107,406 29.54% 2,479,901 Abnormal
  HMST $-1.650 -0.05% 2,796,105 67.83% 656,230 15.92% 2,139,875 Abnormal
  GDX $-0.140 -0.01% 17,279,469 37.41% 9,551,940 20.68% 7,727,529 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Tuesday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows EBAY with 1,273,758 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.14000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
