December 6, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5350 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4042 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2271 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Tuesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Microvision Inc. (NASDAQ:MVIS), RCII (NASDAQ:RCII), Cerecor (NASDAQ:CERC), GAIN Capital Holdings Inc. (NYSE:GCAP), Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores Inc. (NASDAQ:SHOS), Vanguard Natural Resources LLC (NASDAQ:VNR). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  MVIS $-0.180 -0.11% 247,057 39.73% 267,702 43.05% -20,645 -1,147
  RCII $-1.140 -0.10% 1,281,152 31.55% 1,329,073 32.73% -47,921 -420
  CERC $-0.240 -0.16% 163,424 27.52% 225,209 37.92% -61,785 -2,574
  GCAP $-0.620 -0.09% 180,696 34.29% 189,026 35.87% -8,330 -134
  SHOS $-0.600 -0.09% 46,515 24.94% 65,887 35.32% -19,372 -323
  VNR $-0.160 -0.12% 3,300,384 35.72% 3,358,283 36.35% -57,899 -3,619
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows MVIS with a dollar loss Tuesday of $-0.18000 and a Friction Factor of -1,147 shares. That means that it only took 1,147 more shares of selling than buying to move MVIS lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
