November 18, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 5524 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2889 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3021 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. Wal-Mart Stores Inc (NYSE:WMT), Bank of America Corporation (NYSE:BAC), DaVita HealthCare Partners Inc. (NYSE:DVA), The Gap Inc. (NYSE:GPS), Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL), MARKET VECTORS ETF TRJR GOLD MINES (NYSE:GDXJ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  WMT $-0.650 -0.01% 4,496,054 40.72% 3,035,181 27.49% 1,460,873 Abnormal
  BAC $-0.070 -0.00% 45,138,872 37.59% 34,839,163 29.01% 10,299,709 Abnormal
  DVA $-0.470 -0.01% 2,181,499 57.96% 541,546 14.39% 1,639,953 Abnormal
  GPS $-5.080 -0.17% 12,533,546 39.66% 10,025,118 31.72% 2,508,428 Abnormal
  ORCL $-0.390 -0.01% 4,979,519 39.26% 3,407,784 26.87% 1,571,735 Abnormal
  GDXJ $-0.100 -0.00% 7,047,633 38.82% 3,671,352 20.22% 3,376,281 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Friday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows WMT with 1,460,873 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.65000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
