November 18, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 5524 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2889 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3021 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Friday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Global Ship Lease Inc. (NYSE:GSL), Superconductor Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:SCON), ECO SCIENCE SOLUTION (OTC:ESSI), Rand Logistics Inc. (NASDAQ:RLOG), Seanergy Maritime Holdings Corp (NASDAQ:SHIP), Nexmed Inc. (NASDAQ:APRI). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  GSL $-0.390 -0.16% 1,562,995 38.14% 1,680,751 41.02% -117,756 -3,019
  SCON $-1.200 -0.36% 1,027,719 35.37% 1,107,947 38.13% -80,228 -669
  ESSI $-0.270 -0.14% 421,361 40.58% 577,067 55.58% -155,706 -5,767
  RLOG $-0.280 -0.19% 1,206,562 35.45% 1,472,466 43.26% -265,904 -9,497
  SHIP $-1.000 -0.26% 1,240,903 34.09% 1,284,212 35.28% -43,309 -433
  APRI $-0.310 -0.15% 109,367 31.63% 133,472 38.61% -24,105 -778
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows GSL with a dollar loss Friday of $-0.39000 and a Friction Factor of -3,019 shares. That means that it only took 3,019 more shares of selling than buying to move GSL lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
