Tuscany International Drilling Inc. Announces Appointment of New President and Chief Executive Officer and Chairman
CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Feb. 6, 2013) - Tuscany International Drilling Inc. (TSX:TID) (COLOMBIA:TIDC) ("Tuscany") is pleased to announce that Mr. Walter Dawson has been appointed Tuscany's new President and Chief Executive Officer and Mr. Donald Wright has been appointed Tuscany's new Chairman.
Mr. Dawson founded Tuscany in 2007, has been a director of Tuscany since November 2008 and has been serving as Tuscany's Executive Chairman since June 2011. Mr. Dawson also served as Tuscany's Chief Executive Officer from 2008 to June 2011. Mr. Dawson has over 40 years of experience building oilfield service companies. Prior to founding Tuscany, Mr. Dawson was the founder of Saxon Energy Service Inc. and served as its Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer from 2000 to 2008. He is also the founder of Computalog Gearhart Ltd. (now an operating division of Weatherford International) and Enersco Services Company Inc. (formerly Bonus Resource Services Corp.).
Mr. Wright has been a director of Tuscany since December 2008. Mr. Wright serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of The Winnington Capital Group Inc. since 2005. From 1995 until his retirement in 2002, Mr. Wright held many senior positions at TD Bank Group, including Chairman and CEO of TD Securities and Deputy Chairman of TD Bank Financial Group. From 1986 until 1995, Mr. Wright held numerous positions at Merrill Lynch including President of Merrill Lynch Canada. Mr. Wright has more than 39 years of experience in the investment industry and has also held positions as past Chair of VIA Rail Canada and on the Board of Trustees of Sick Children's Hospital.
