September 26, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 4003 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1777 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3549 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Wednesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Life Partners Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:LPHI), AMERICAN GREETINGS CORPORATION (NYSE:AM), Save The World Air Inc (OTCBB:ZERO), 7 Days Group Holdings Ltd (NYSE:SVN), Airmedia Group Inc (NASDAQ:AMCN), Knight Capital Group Inc (NYSE:KCG). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  LPHI $2.120 145.21% 5,715,363 54.20% 4,815,928 45.67% 899,435 4,243
  AM $2.480 17.29% 777,754 28.92% 708,011 26.32% 69,743 281
  ZERO $0.410 61.19% 1,838,608 35.56% 1,483,107 28.68% 355,501 8,671
  SVN $1.380 13.06% 606,285 34.78% 415,409 23.83% 190,876 1,383
  AMCN $0.180 10.28% 94,669 55.02% 77,405 44.98% 17,264 959
  KCG $0.210 8.75% 3,742,845 38.15% 3,032,423 30.91% 710,422 33,830
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows LPHI with a dollar gain Wednesday of $2.12000 and a Friction Factor of 4,243 shares. That means that it only took 4,243 more shares of buying than selling to move LPHI higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
