Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission Selects Trapeze Group, a Subsidiary of Constellation Software's Volaris Group, for Comprehensive Intelligent Transportation System
TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 2, 2012) - Constellation Software Inc. (TSX:CSU) today announced that Trapeze Group, a subsidiary of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Volaris Group Inc., has signed a significant contract with Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission ("PRTC") of Virginia to provide a new comprehensive intelligent transportation system to help them better manage their fixed-route and flex-route operations.
PRTC operates in a unique urban/suburban environment, providing dynamic transit service south of and in the greater Washington, DC area, including flex route, fixed route, commuter, and rail feeder service. Considered an innovative agency, PRTC helped develop the benchmark for flexible routing practices and has been a valued customer of Trapeze for almost a decade.
The Trapeze solution for PRTC includes computer-aided dispatch and automatic vehicle location (CAD/AVL) technology integrated with their existing scheduling solutions from Trapeze Group.
Providing transit riders with critical traveler information, the Trapeze solution for PRTC also enables them to provide real-time arrival and departure information at various sites as well as next stop announcements on the bus.
The Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC) is a regional transportation district comprised of six jurisdictions: Prince William, Stafford and Spotsylvania Counties and the Cities of Manassas, Manassas Park and Fredericksburg in the state of Virginia.
