Market Maker Surveillance Report. GSOL, PATK, UCFC, HDY, CBLI, VRNG, Losing Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Wednesday, A

April 4, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3583 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1262 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4786 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Wednesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. GLOBAL SOURCES LTD (NASDAQ:GSOL), PATRICK INDUSTRIES INC (NASDAQ:PATK), UNITED COMMUNITY FINANCIAL (NASDAQ:UCFC), HYPERDYNAMICS CORP (NYSE:HDY), Cleveland BioLabs Inc (NASDAQ:CBLI), VRINGO INC (AMEX:VRNG). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  GSOL $-0.860 -13.87% 38,646 46.07% 45,046 53.70% -6,400 -74
  PATK $-2.070 -17.11% 250,421 46.66% 277,363 51.68% -26,942 -130
  UCFC $-0.570 -22.80% 97,832 34.84% 182,932 65.16% -85,100 -1,493
  HDY $-0.170 -13.18% 1,110,515 27.12% 1,601,110 39.11% -490,595 -28,859
  CBLI $-0.830 -34.67% 652,100 48.68% 680,072 50.76% -27,972 -337
  VRNG $-0.670 -20.62% 1,419,574 27.54% 1,971,623 38.25% -552,049 -8,240
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows GSOL with a dollar loss Wednesday of $-0.86000 and a Friction Factor of -74 shares. That means that it only took 74 more shares of selling than buying to move GSOL lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
