April 4, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3583 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1262 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4786 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Wednesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. GMX RESOURCES INC (NYSE:GMXR), RECON TECHNOLOGY LTD (NASDAQ:RCON), SMARTHEAT INC (NASDAQ:HEAT), NF ENERGY SAVING CORP (OTCBB:NFEC), THT HEAT TRANSFER TECHNOLOGY (OTC:THTI), GUANWEI RECYCLING CORP (OTC:GPRC). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction GMXR $0.300 24.00% 2,360,411 37.23% 2,048,201 32.30% 312,210 10,407 RCON $1.020 48.51% 843,968 56.02% 647,758 43.00% 196,210 1,924 HEAT $2.210 42.10% 6,209,865 50.29% 5,982,184 48.45% 227,681 1,030 NFEC $0.460 54.76% 159,162 52.01% 141,626 46.28% 17,536 381 THTI $1.030 80.47% 907,983 50.50% 874,833 48.66% 33,150 322 GPRC $0.250 33.33% 327,359 59.72% 220,770 40.28% 106,589 4,264Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows GMXR with a dollar gain Wednesday of $0.30000 and a Friction Factor of 10,407 shares. That means that it only took 10,407 more shares of buying than selling to move GMXR higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
