January 5, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 3722 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3252 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2531 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. BANCO BRADESCO-ADR (NYSE:BBD), J.C. PENNEY CO INC (NYSE:JCP), Cemex SAB de CV (NYSE:CX), CISCO SYSTEMS INCORPORATED (NASDAQ:CSCO), SPRINT NEXTEL CORP (NYSE:S), MICROSOFT CORPORATION (NASDAQ:MSFT). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     BBD $-0.050 -0.29% 3,236,452 40.16% 1,526,513 18.94% 1,709,939 Abnormal
     JCP $-1.040 -2.98% 5,838,671 43.54% 3,718,562 27.73% 2,120,109 Abnormal
     CX $-0.110 -1.94% 7,144,456 38.14% 5,135,751 27.42% 2,008,705 Abnormal
     CSCO $-0.140 -0.75% 20,311,707 52.98% 18,018,756 47.00% 2,292,951 Abnormal
     S $-0.060 -2.60% 14,784,198 43.78% 11,255,386 33.33% 3,528,812 Abnormal
     MSFT $-0.010 -0.05% 32,215,345 56.80% 24,339,935 42.91% 7,875,410 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Thursday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows BBD with 1,709,939 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.05000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
