January 5, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 3722 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3252 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2531 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Thursday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. DENDREON CORP (NASDAQ:DNDN), EDAP TMS SA -ADR (NASDAQ:EDAP), TORCH ENERGY ROYALTY TRUST (NYSE:TRU), DEX ONE CORP (NYSE:DEXO), ANCESTRY.COM INC (NASDAQ:ACOM), JBI INC (OTC:JBII). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     DNDN $3.010 39.61% 22,582,962 49.30% 22,460,158 49.04% 122,804 408
     EDAP $0.320 19.28% 46,001 57.53% 33,961 42.47% 12,040 376
     TRU $0.500 22.83% 52,151 44.85% 33,753 29.03% 18,398 368
     DEXO $0.400 20.83% 1,373,582 30.90% 1,329,788 29.91% 43,794 1,095
     ACOM $4.600 20.11% 1,776,166 52.53% 1,548,625 45.80% 227,541 495
     JBII $0.390 45.35% 1,122,359 44.92% 905,324 36.24% 217,035 5,565
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows DNDN with a dollar gain Thursday of $3.01000 and a Friction Factor of 408 shares. That means that it only took 408 more shares of buying than selling to move DNDN higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
