December 28, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3534 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1762 companies with positive Friction Factors and 5171 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Wednesday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. LEGEND INTERNATIONAL HOLDING (OTCBB:LGDI), GILEAD SCIENCES, INC. (NASDAQ:GILD), QIAGEN N.V. (NASDAQ:QGEN), SARA LEE CORP (NYSE:SLE), CAPITALSOURCE INC (NYSE:CSE), (OTC:HPCS). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     LGDI $0.071 71.72% 1,300,548 63.02% 757,152 36.69% 543,396 76,535
     GILD $0.080 0.20% 3,604,216 57.05% 2,695,212 42.66% 909,004 113,626
     QGEN $0.070 0.50% 1,238,763 63.23% 720,412 36.77% 518,351 74,050
     SLE $0.010 0.05% 1,160,858 46.79% 660,275 26.61% 500,583 500,583
     CSE $0.090 1.36% 1,700,368 45.66% 1,198,294 32.18% 502,074 55,786
     HPCS $0.012 40.00% 1,123,000 38.33% 456,500 15.58% 666,500 555,417
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows LGDI with a Net Buy Volume of 543,396 shares and a Friction Factor of 76,535 shares. That means that it takes 76,535 more shares of buying than selling to move LGDI higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Wednesday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
