December 27, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3813 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2805 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3068 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Tuesday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. MEDINAH MINERALS INC (OTC:MDMN), Intel Corp (NASDAQ:INTC), RESEARCH IN MOTION (NASDAQ:RIMM), MICROSOFT CORPORATION (NASDAQ:MSFT), LIQUIDMETAL TECHNOLOGIES INC (OTCBB:LQMT), FREDDIE MAC (OTC:FMCC). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction MDMN $0.013 19.25% 4,641,633 69.57% 2,019,834 30.28% 2,621,799 2,032,402 INTC $0.120 0.49% 13,537,754 56.13% 10,432,252 43.25% 3,105,502 258,792 RIMM $0.980 7.01% 15,805,257 54.80% 13,031,655 45.18% 2,773,602 28,302 MSFT $0.010 0.04% 13,486,855 63.40% 9,715,176 45.67% 3,771,679 3,771,679 LQMT $0.021 12.35% 5,063,742 57.19% 3,790,437 42.81% 1,273,305 606,336 FMCC $0.029 12.20% 5,197,992 65.01% 2,815,265 35.21% 2,382,727 827,336Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows MDMN with a Net Buy Volume of 2,621,799 shares and a Friction Factor of 2,032,402 shares. That means that it takes 2,032,402 more shares of buying than selling to move MDMN higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Tuesday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
