December 27, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3813 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2805 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3068 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Tuesday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO (NYSE:GE), Banco Santander SA (NYSE:STD), MICRON TECHNOLOGY INC (NASDAQ:MU), JPMORGAN CHASE & CO (NYSE:JPM), ALCOA INC. (NYSE:AA), Amwest Imaging Inc (OTCBB:AMWI). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

     STD $-0.060 -0.79% 648,101 8.98% 5,764,097 79.85% -5,115,996 -852,666

     JPM $-0.540 -1.61% 4,418,915 26.30% 6,463,170 38.46% -2,044,255 -37,857
     AA $-0.100 -1.13% 5,820,751 31.20% 7,690,116 41.22% -1,869,365 -186,937
     AMWI $-0.028 -24.14% 1,177,312 25.66% 3,410,941 74.34% -2,233,629 -797,725
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows GE down $-0.23000 with a Friction Factor of -298,285 and a Net Volume of -6,860,548. That means that it takes 298,285 more shares of selling than buying to drop GE by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
