December 20, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3554 companies with "abnormal" market making, 5042 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1876 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Tuesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. PEOPLES BANCORPORATION INC (OTCBB:PBCE), PROGENICS PHARMACEUTICALS (NASDAQ:PGNX), POWERWAVE TECHNOLOGIES INC (NASDAQ:PWAV), BIOTIME INC (AMEX:BTX), SAN GOLD CORP (OTC:SGRCF), CANADIAN SOLAR INC (NASDAQ:CSIQ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     PBCE $2.096 139.73% 70,906 52.70% 36,265 26.96% 34,641 165
     PGNX $2.010 31.02% 1,023,670 50.12% 1,008,166 49.36% 15,504 77
     PWAV $0.420 29.17% 453,388 60.59% 294,836 39.40% 158,552 3,775
     BTX $1.160 26.91% 446,769 47.62% 292,389 31.16% 154,380 1,331
     SGRCF $0.526 39.38% 52,267 36.33% 26,605 18.49% 25,662 488
     CSIQ $0.820 37.10% 1,880,935 54.56% 1,566,449 45.44% 314,486 3,835
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows PBCE with a dollar gain Tuesday of $2.09600 and a Friction Factor of 165 shares. That means that it only took 165 more shares of buying than selling to move PBCE higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
