ST. PAUL, Minn., July 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- CHS Inc. (Nasdaq: [ CHSCP ]), a leading energy, grains and foods company, announced today it is contributing $100,000 to Laurel, Mont., to support construction of permanent flood protection for the city's water treatment facility. "We recognize the significant impact the flooding has had on so many individuals and communities throughout the region. With this contribution, we are pleased to support the construction of permanent flood protection for the city of Laurel's water supply."
CHS Senior Vice President Energy Operations Dan Knepper presented the CHS contribution to city officials.
In addition to its Laurel-based refinery, pipelines and terminal operations, CHS provides a wide array of agriculture and energy products and services to its member-owner farmers and ranchers, locally-owned cooperatives and consumers throughout Montana.
