July 20, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 4298 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3247 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3258 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Wednesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. QUEPASA CORP (AMEX:QPSA), TEAMSTAFF INC (NASDAQ:TSTF), INTERDIGITAL INC (NASDAQ:IDCC), CHINA TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT (NASDAQ:CTDC), SINO-GLOBAL SHIPPING AMERICA (NASDAQ:SINO), ZARLINK SEMICONDUCTOR INC (OTC:ZARLF). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     QPSA $2.860 40.11% 2,130,018 37.29% 1,717,016 30.06% 413,002 1,444
     TSTF $0.500 26.46% 249,116 69.70% 108,083 30.24% 141,033 2,821
     IDCC $15.340 28.80% 5,607,458 48.73% 5,350,640 46.50% 256,818 167
     CTDC $0.410 38.95% 79,413 56.20% 60,740 42.99% 18,673 455
     SINO $2.770 156.50% 806,760 57.77% 581,505 41.64% 225,255 813
     ZARLF $1.260 50.00% 432,406 51.29% 389,286 46.17% 43,120 342
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows QPSA with a dollar gain Wednesday of $2.86000 and a Friction Factor of 1,444 shares. That means that it only took 1,444 more shares of buying than selling to move QPSA higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
