Market Maker Surveillance Report. ICGN, DSCO, DATE, SCEI, RLMXF, OSN, Winning Stocks With Lowest Price Friction For Thursday,
July 14, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 3981 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1928 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4639 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Thursday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. ICAGEN INC (NASDAQ:ICGN), DISCOVERY LABORATORIES INC (NASDAQ:DSCO), DATA TECH CORP (NASDAQ:DATE), SINO CLEAN ENERGY INC (OTC:SCEI), REALM ENERGY INTERNATIONAL C (OTC:RLMXF), OSSEN INNOVATION CO-SPON ADR (NASDAQ:OSN). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction ICGN $1.800 29.75% 2,978,749 54.08% 2,487,089 45.15% 491,660 2,731 DSCO $0.310 14.03% 608,492 53.69% 524,025 46.23% 84,467 2,725 DATE $1.610 13.54% 246,367 64.11% 131,453 34.21% 114,914 714 SCEI $0.440 30.56% 2,450,996 56.25% 1,906,662 43.75% 544,334 12,371 RLMXF $0.162 17.92% 97,100 60.65% 58,500 36.54% 38,600 2,390 OSN $0.900 27.36% 236,955 57.06% 166,881 40.19% 70,074 779Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows ICGN with a dollar gain Thursday of $1.80000 and a Friction Factor of 2,731 shares. That means that it only took 2,731 more shares of buying than selling to move ICGN higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
