July 14, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 3981 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1928 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4639 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Thursday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. COFFEE HOLDING CO INC (AMEX:JVA), MEDTOX SCIENTIFIC INC (NASDAQ:MTOX), JBI INC (OTC:JBII), KINGOLD JEWELRY INC (NASDAQ:KGJI), (OTCBB:TBBC), (AMEX:XG). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction JVA $-4.030 -17.46% 1,551,416 45.46% 1,795,527 52.62% -244,111 -606 MTOX $-2.130 -12.20% 39,924 43.75% 51,328 56.25% -11,404 -54 JBII $-0.650 -25.49% 153,626 18.45% 244,256 29.33% -90,630 -1,394 KGJI $-0.230 -11.33% 456,162 46.85% 517,480 53.15% -61,318 -2,666 TBBC $-0.180 -14.06% 332,080 33.79% 453,197 46.11% -121,117 -6,729 XG $-2.360 -15.57% 261,513 27.72% 321,594 34.08% -60,081 -255Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows JVA with a dollar loss Thursday of $-4.03000 and a Friction Factor of -606 shares. That means that it only took 606 more shares of selling than buying to move JVA lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
