July 14, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 3981 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1928 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4639 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. CONOCOPHILLIPS (NYSE:COP), GENERAL ELECTRIC CO (NYSE:GE), SIRIUS XM RADIO INC (NASDAQ:SIRI), NISOURCE INC (NYSE:NI), LEXINGTON REALTY TRUST (NYSE:LXP), STAPLES INC (NASDAQ:SPLS). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     COP $1.210 1.63% 11,841,938 19.18% 32,014,462 51.85% -20,172,524 Abnormal
     GE $0.020 0.11% 10,089,433 23.17% 12,367,565 28.40% -2,278,132 Abnormal
     SIRI $0.020 0.67% 50,772,065 28.54% 166,325,738 93.49% -115,553,673 Abnormal
     NI $0.090 0.44% 1,177,592 14.71% 5,401,016 67.47% -4,223,424 Abnormal
     LXP $0.010 0.11% 1,470,920 23.73% 4,198,693 67.74% -2,727,773 Abnormal
     SPLS $0.010 0.08% 4,399,861 44.76% 5,422,547 55.16% -1,022,686 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Thursday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows COP with 20,172,524 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $1.21000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
