June 3, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 2623 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1494 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3389 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. BANCO BRADESCO-ADR (NYSE:BBD), ELECTRONIC ARTS INC (NASDAQ:ERTS), GERDAU SA -SPON ADR (NYSE:GGB), JPMORGAN CHASE & CO (NYSE:JPM), CERRO DORADO INC (OTC:CDCH), IPATH S&P 500 VIX S/T FU ETN (NYSE:VXX). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     BBD $0.340 1.73% 3,007,917 26.31% 3,829,503 33.49% -821,586 Abnormal
     ERTS $0.030 0.11% 3,062,669 43.67% 3,948,203 56.30% -885,534 Abnormal
     GGB $0.050 0.47% 2,223,011 24.36% 3,171,252 34.75% -948,241 Abnormal
     JPM $0.020 0.05% 7,517,551 24.05% 9,076,698 29.04% -1,559,147 Abnormal
     CDCH $0.014 10.45% 494,944 30.99% 1,102,255 69.01% -607,311 Abnormal
     VXX $0.190 0.85% 7,068,186 25.57% 7,665,496 27.74% -597,310 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Friday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows BBD with 821,586 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.34000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
