May 9, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 2600 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3274 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1827 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. MATERIALS SELECT SECTOR SPDR (NYSE:XLB), ISHARES MSCI EMERGING MKT IN (NYSE:EEM), EXXON MOBIL CORP (NYSE:XOM), WELLS FARGO & CO (NYSE:WFC), CISCO SYSTEMS INC (NASDAQ:CSCO), ISHARES MSCI JAPAN INDEX FD (NYSE:EWJ). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     XLB $0.590 1.50% 2,660,503 19.94% 3,645,915 27.32% -985,412 Abnormal
     EEM $0.150 0.31% 10,700,437 22.12% 12,836,184 26.54% -2,135,747 Abnormal
     XOM $0.590 0.71% 4,186,766 22.95% 5,217,654 28.60% -1,030,888 Abnormal
     WFC $0.030 0.11% 5,998,936 27.88% 7,234,381 33.62% -1,235,445 Abnormal
     CSCO $0.050 0.28% 22,613,186 48.17% 24,011,550 51.15% -1,398,364 Abnormal
     EWJ $0.010 0.07% 8,028,359 33.81% 9,172,958 38.63% -1,144,599 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Monday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows XLB with 985,412 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.59000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
