May 9, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 2600 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3274 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1827 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Monday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. ISHARES FTSE CHINA 25 INDEX (NYSE:FXI), PFIZER INC (NYSE:PFE), GENERAL ELECTRIC CO (NYSE:GE), BROCADE COMMUNICATIONS SYS (NASDAQ:BRCD), WARNER MUSIC GROUP CORP (NYSE:WMG), SPDR S&P OIL & GAS EXP & PR (NYSE:XOP). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     FXI $0.170 0.39% 4,646,896 40.31% 2,381,326 20.66% 2,265,570 133,269
     PFE $0.050 0.26% 10,969,625 35.41% 8,922,752 28.80% 2,046,873 409,375
     GE $0.080 0.40% 13,327,255 35.06% 10,244,178 26.95% 3,083,077 385,385
     BRCD $0.150 2.45% 6,362,473 56.49% 4,900,478 43.51% 1,461,995 97,466
     WMG $0.010 0.12% 2,386,764 47.64% 873,616 17.44% 1,513,148 1,513,148
     XOP $1.770 3.05% 2,952,850 46.89% 1,008,785 16.02% 1,944,065 10,983
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows FXI with a Net Buy Volume of 2,265,570 shares and a Friction Factor of 133,269 shares. That means that it takes 133,269 more shares of buying than selling to move FXI higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Monday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
