April 11, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 2540 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1842 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3707 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Monday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. GLOBAL CROSSING LTD (NASDAQ:GLBC), OLD SECOND BANCORP INC (NASDAQ:OSBC), CAPITAL TRUST-CL A (NYSE:CT), SEARCHMEDIA HOLDINGS LTD (AMEX:IDI), TIMBERWEST FOREST CRP- STP U (OTC:TMWEF), Easy Groups Ltd. (OTC:ESYL). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .
Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction GLBC $10.600 71.62% 7,434,071 43.46% 7,120,431 41.63% 313,640 296 OSBC $0.190 18.10% 149,225 56.15% 116,527 43.85% 32,698 1,721 CT $0.890 27.73% 347,446 52.86% 245,367 37.33% 102,079 1,147 IDI $0.280 15.22% 55,550 63.77% 32,365 37.15% 23,185 828 TMWEF $1.025 17.96% 162,424 50.31% 139,618 43.24% 22,806 223 ESYL $0.160 18.18% 619,659 64.52% 283,524 29.52% 336,135 21,008Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows GLBC with a dollar gain Monday of $10.60000 and a Friction Factor of 296 shares. That means that it only took 296 more shares of buying than selling to move GLBC higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
