December 28, 2010 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 2573 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2381 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3104 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. CLEAN POWER CONCEPTS INC (OTCBB:CPOW), INTEL CORP (NASDAQ:INTC), EXXON MOBIL CORP (NYSE:XOM), BANK OF AMERICA CORP (NYSE:BAC), PFIZER INC (NYSE:PFE), ENERGY SELECT SECTOR SPDR (NYSE:XLE). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     CPOW $0.072 20.93% 27,694,224 37.93% 41,640,111 57.03% -13,945,887 Abnormal
     INTC $0.060 0.29% 8,986,189 37.68% 14,817,189 62.14% -5,831,000 Abnormal
     XOM $0.370 0.51% 4,902,212 33.99% 6,945,503 48.16% -2,043,291 Abnormal
     BAC $0.070 0.53% 51,379,066 43.31% 56,046,465 47.24% -4,667,399 Abnormal
     PFE $0.100 0.57% 11,004,858 37.13% 15,904,307 53.66% -4,899,449 Abnormal
     XLE $0.290 0.43% 1,937,347 37.64% 4,260,671 82.78% -2,323,324 Abnormal

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Tuesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows XLE with 2,323,324 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.29000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
