December 29, 2010 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 2589 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3136 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2308 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Wednesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. SEVEN ARTS PICTURES PLC (NASDAQ:SAPX), CHINA SHEN ZHOU MINING & RES (AMEX:SHZ), NEW ORIENTAL ENERGY & CHEMIC (NASDAQ:NOEC), WEBMEDIABRANDS INC (NASDAQ:WEBM), BIOANALYTICAL SYSTEMS INC (NASDAQ:BASI), QIAO XING UNIVERSAL RESOURCE (NASDAQ:XING). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     SAPX $0.260 29.55% 39,426 59.40% 26,953 40.60% 12,473 480
     SHZ $3.840 69.82% 14,871,938 45.27% 13,510,433 41.12% 1,361,505 3,546
     NOEC $0.290 29.00% 261,953 59.66% 177,143 40.34% 84,810 2,924
     WEBM $0.490 38.88% 1,909,296 58.26% 1,272,779 38.84% 636,517 12,990
     BASI $0.650 32.24% 287,892 48.77% 283,683 48.06% 4,209 65
     XING $0.860 46.49% 14,914,682 58.19% 10,714,678 41.81% 4,200,004 48,837

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows XING with a dollar gain Wednesday of $0.86000 and a Friction Factor of 48,837 shares. That means that it only took 48,837 more shares of buying than selling to move XING higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
