December 28, 2010 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 2573 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2381 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3104 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Tuesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. SNAP INTERACTIVE INC (OTCBB:STVI), TIMBERLINE RESOURCES CORP (AMEX:TLR), CHINA SHEN ZHOU MINING & RES (AMEX:SHZ), CHINA GENGSHENG MINERALS INC (AMEX:CHGS), VALUEVISION MEDIA INC-CL A (NASDAQ:VVTV), ADEONA PHARMACEUTICALS INC (AMEX:AEN). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     STVI $0.350 28.00% 911,500 50.89% 847,031 47.29% 64,469 1,842
     TLR $0.190 22.09% 486,229 52.46% 400,608 43.23% 85,621 4,506
     SHZ $0.950 20.88% 4,637,047 47.79% 4,304,915 44.37% 332,132 3,496
     CHGS $0.430 25.44% 1,544,288 53.90% 1,266,390 44.20% 277,898 6,463
     VVTV $1.030 21.11% 614,690 54.82% 500,224 44.61% 114,466 1,111
     AEN $0.410 44.47% 792,044 61.42% 397,276 30.81% 394,768 9,628

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows AEN with a dollar gain Tuesday of $0.41000 and a Friction Factor of 9,628 shares. That means that it only took 9,628 more shares of buying than selling to move AEN higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
