December 16, 2010 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 2544 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3412 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1932 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Thursday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. ADVANCED CELL TECHNOLOGY INC (OTCBB:ACTC), FORD MOTOR CO (NYSE:F), MOTOROLA INC (NYSE:MOT), BANK OF AMERICA CORP (NYSE:BAC), CITIGROUP INC (NYSE:C), POWERSHARES QQQ NASDAQ 100 (NASDAQ:QQQQ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     ACTC $0.021 13.14% 17,716,177 59.67% 10,661,223 35.91% 7,054,954 3,375,576
     F $0.210 1.27% 26,071,467 53.19% 17,469,350 35.64% 8,602,117 409,625
     MOT $0.400 4.72% 39,468,503 45.96% 33,239,053 38.70% 6,229,450 155,736
     BAC $0.250 2.03% 141,765,452 46.19% 131,014,155 42.68% 10,751,297 430,052
     C $0.030 0.65% 332,013,966 49.26% 322,351,724 47.83% 9,662,242 3,220,747
     QQQQ $0.560 1.03% 30,532,083 49.26% 20,653,072 33.32% 9,879,011 176,411

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows QQQQ with a Net Buy Volume of 9,879,011 shares and a Friction Factor of 176,411 shares. That means that it takes 176,411 more shares of buying than selling to move QQQQ higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Thursday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
