December 17, 2010 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 2571 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2768 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2348 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Friday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. ORACLE CORP (NASDAQ:ORCL), OFFICE DEPOT INC (NYSE:ODP), MICRON TECHNOLOGY INC (NASDAQ:MU), EASTMAN KODAK CO (NYSE:EK), SIRIUS XM RADIO INC (NASDAQ:SIRI), CITIGROUP INC (NYSE:C). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     ORCL $1.520 5.02% 57,068,876 60.71% 44,815,158 47.67% 12,253,718 80,617
     ODP $0.160 3.36% 22,351,239 73.31% 7,066,673 23.18% 15,284,566 955,285
     MU $0.160 1.99% 44,046,919 77.94% 12,370,953 21.89% 31,675,966 1,979,748
     EK $0.200 3.74% 27,454,961 70.05% 9,683,278 24.71% 17,771,683 888,584
     SIRI $0.010 0.72% 28,811,700 80.26% 7,070,876 19.70% 21,740,824 21,740,824
     C $0.110 2.47% 389,961,443 58.47% 262,802,140 39.40% 127,159,303 11,559,937

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows C with a Net Buy Volume of 127,159,303 shares and a Friction Factor of 11,559,937 shares. That means that it takes 11,559,937 more shares of buying than selling to move C higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Friday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
