December 13, 2010 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 2595 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2391 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3075 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Monday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. CHINA SHEN ZHOU MINING & RES (AMEX:SHZ), CARDICA INC (NASDAQ:CRDC), MAGIC SOFTWARE ENTERPRISES (NASDAQ:MGIC), BANRO CORPORATION (AMEX:BAA), SIGMATRON INTERNATIONAL INC (NASDAQ:SGMA), FUELCELL ENERGY INC (NASDAQ:FCEL). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     SHZ $0.720 19.05% 2,675,898 49.66% 2,272,795 42.18% 403,103 5,599
     CRDC $0.490 17.44% 409,583 50.32% 403,269 49.54% 6,314 129
     MGIC $1.080 15.88% 2,034,611 53.65% 1,742,927 45.96% 291,684 2,701
     BAA $0.500 15.58% 303,416 52.67% 200,037 34.72% 103,379 2,068
     SGMA $1.120 20.44% 52,397 57.13% 39,321 42.87% 13,076 117
     FCEL $0.240 16.55% 4,088,993 51.33% 3,869,219 48.57% 219,774 9,157

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows FCEL with a dollar gain Monday of $0.24000 and a Friction Factor of 9,157 shares. That means that it only took 9,157 more shares of buying than selling to move FCEL higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
