December 10, 2010 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 2415 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3440 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2010 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Friday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. DIREXION DAILY FINL BEAR 3X (NYSE:FAZ), REGIONS FINANCIAL CORP (NYSE:RF), BANK OF IRELAND-SPONS ADR (NYSE:IRE), NORTH AMER PALLADIUM LTD (AMEX:PAL), LEVEL 3 COMMUNICATIONS INC (NASDAQ:LVLT), DELTA AIR LINES INC (NYSE:DAL). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction

     RF $-0.040 -0.62% 7,969,542 41.61% 9,871,099 51.54% -1,901,557 -475,389
     IRE $-0.240 -7.89% 21,555,478 42.86% 26,299,297 52.29% -4,743,819 -197,659
     PAL $-0.040 -0.64% 1,140,055 14.80% 6,345,009 82.39% -5,204,954 -1,301,239
     LVLT $-0.010 -0.92% 12,292,267 44.61% 15,265,170 55.39% -2,972,903 -2,972,903
     DAL $-0.280 -2.10% 2,988,662 34.28% 4,986,970 57.20% -1,998,308 -71,368

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows DAL down $-0.28000 with a Friction Factor of -71,368 and a Net Volume of -1,998,308. That means that it takes 71,368 more shares of selling than buying to drop DAL by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
