December 10, 2010 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 2415 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3440 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2010 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. BECKMAN COULTER INC (NYSE:BEC), SARA LEE CORP (NYSE:SLE), TENET HEALTHCARE CORP (NYSE:THC), IRON MOUNTAIN INC (NYSE:IRM), PFIZER INC (NYSE:PFE), COMCAST CORP-CLASS A (NASDAQ:CMCSA). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     BEC $14.880 26.06% 5,509,352 39.20% 6,959,518 49.52% -1,450,166 Abnormal
     SLE $0.160 1.01% 3,128,310 39.27% 4,701,652 59.03% -1,573,342 Abnormal
     THC $2.400 55.94% 105,264,414 43.87% 108,441,502 45.20% -3,177,088 Abnormal
     IRM $0.100 0.43% 776,455 19.95% 2,951,368 75.82% -2,174,913 Abnormal
     PFE $0.240 1.44% 17,889,312 41.91% 20,201,171 47.33% -2,311,859 Abnormal
     CMCSA $0.430 2.07% 10,997,039 45.07% 13,351,495 54.73% -2,354,456 Abnormal

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Friday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows CMCSA with 2,354,456 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.43000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
