December 1, 2010 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 2563 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3857 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1784 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Wednesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. CHINA AGRI-BUSINESS INC (OTCBB:CHBU), WAVE SYSTEMS CORP-CLASS A (NASDAQ:WAVX), COLLECTIVE BRANDS INC (NYSE:PSS), THOMAS GROUP INC (NASDAQ:TGIS), GIGA-TRONICS INC (NASDAQ:GIGA), REDIFF.COM INDIA LIMITED-ADR (NASDAQ:REDF). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     CHBU $1.010 102.02% 515,254 55.72% 302,927 32.76% 212,327 2,102
     WAVX $0.450 17.05% 1,144,262 74.05% 400,976 25.95% 743,286 16,517
     PSS $3.100 18.35% 851,479 46.32% 833,501 45.34% 17,978 58
     TGIS $0.330 21.71% 69,851 55.51% 55,987 44.49% 13,864 420
     GIGA $0.410 18.72% 65,297 63.08% 36,701 35.45% 28,596 697
     REDF $0.750 24.51% 805,565 60.36% 526,374 39.44% 279,191 3,723

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows REDF with a dollar gain Wednesday of $0.75000 and a Friction Factor of 3,723 shares. That means that it only took 3,723 more shares of buying than selling to move REDF higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
