November 18, 2010 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 2726 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3648 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1609 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Thursday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. FINANCIAL SELECT SECTOR SPDR (NYSE:XLF), ISHARES RUSSELL 2000 (NYSE:IWM), SPDR S&P 500 ETF TRUST (NYSE:SPY), CITIGROUP INC (NYSE:C), SIRIUS XM RADIO INC (NASDAQ:SIRI), SEGA SAMMY HOLDING-SPONS ADR (OTC:SGAMY). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     XLF $0.23 1.600% 48,400,742 55.900% 38,278,599 44.210% 10,122,143 440,093
     IWM $1.45 2.050% 28,156,192 53.930% 20,055,507 38.410% 8,100,685 55,867
     SPY $2.03 1.720% 97,038,989 52.890% 78,320,789 42.690% 18,718,200 92,208
     C $0.11 2.740% 247,688,616 51.280% 222,712,688 46.110% 24,975,928 2
     SIRI $0.04 3.140% 52,800,307 57.750% 38,555,836 42.170% 14,244,471 3
     SGAMY $0.19 4.730% 10,346,042 197.840% 47,027 0.900% 10,299,015 542,053

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows SGAMY with a Net Buy Volume of 10,299,015 shares and a Friction Factor of 542,053 shares. That means that it takes 542,053 more shares of buying than selling to move SGAMY higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Thursday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
