Lambda, a startup specializing in cloud computing and artificial intelligence, has successfully raised $320 million in a Series C funding round, valuing the company at $1.5 billion. This investment was led by billionaire Thomas Tull's US Innovative Technology Fund, with participation from other notable investors like Breyer Capital, SK Networks, and others. The funds will be used to expand Lambda's GPU cloud infrastructure, which is crucial for running AI models, and to develop its own AI software. Lambda's CEO, Stephen Balaban, highlighted the company's focus on providing the necessary computing power for AI development, aiming to make AI more accessible and efficient for developers and businesses. The company also plans to enhance its offerings in AI training and inference, positioning itself as a key player in the rapidly growing AI market.
