April 27, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 5430 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2629 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3249 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Thursday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Smith Micro Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:SMSI), EXACT Sciences Corporation (NASDAQ:EXAS), Ultra Clean Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:UCTT), China Commercial Credit (NASDAQ:CCCR), LeMaitre Vascular Inc. (NASDAQ:LMAT), Proteostasis Therapeutics (NASDAQ:PTI). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .
Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction SMSI $0.240 0.27% 338,609 44.22% 271,228 35.42% 67,381 2,808 EXAS $6.340 0.27% 5,588,864 35.06% 5,322,865 33.39% 265,999 420 UCTT $2.490 0.14% 1,145,017 37.41% 1,056,990 34.53% 88,027 354 CCCR $0.240 0.15% 1,072,320 37.95% 1,065,883 37.72% 6,437 268 LMAT $5.480 0.21% 197,814 34.59% 196,384 34.34% 1,430 3 PTI $0.940 0.15% 151,360 32.67% 122,496 26.44% 28,864 307Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows SMSI with a dollar gain Thursday of $0.24000 and a Friction Factor of 2,808 shares. That means that it only took 2,808 more shares of buying than selling to move SMSI higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
