April 12, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 5344 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2298 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3614 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. iShares MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (NYSE:EEM), Sirius XM Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:SIRI), Coach Inc. (NYSE:COH), Barrick Gold Corporation (NYSE:ABX), BRF Brasil Foods SA (NYSE:BRFS), MARKET VECTORS ETF TRJR GOLD MINES (NYSE:GDXJ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  EEM $0.190 0.01% 17,649,011 31.40% 20,997,664 37.36% -3,348,653 Abnormal
  SIRI $0.050 0.01% 6,596,742 32.41% 8,756,009 43.02% -2,159,267 Abnormal
  COH $0.080 0.00% 555,590 13.59% 1,958,585 47.90% -1,402,995 Abnormal
  ABX $0.140 0.01% 4,337,111 31.17% 5,365,787 38.57% -1,028,676 Abnormal
  BRFS $0.260 0.02% 721,010 14.79% 2,714,969 55.69% -1,993,959 Abnormal
  GDXJ $0.540 0.01% 3,893,186 23.72% 5,437,401 33.13% -1,544,215 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Wednesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows EEM with 3,348,653 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.19000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
