March 16, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 5561 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3422 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2421 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. Financial Select Sector SPDR (NYSE:XLF), Technology Select Sector SPDR (NYSE:XLK), Visa Inc. (NYSE:V), iShares MSCI EAFE Index (NYSE:EFA), Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F), Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  XLF $0.080 0.00% 22,277,868 28.57% 26,854,444 34.44% -4,576,576 Abnormal
  XLK $0.050 0.00% 2,400,075 18.85% 6,159,144 48.38% -3,759,069 Abnormal
  V $0.120 0.00% 1,469,059 11.74% 5,170,121 41.30% -3,701,062 Abnormal
  EFA $0.300 0.01% 5,512,650 21.20% 8,648,763 33.27% -3,136,113 Abnormal
  F $0.050 0.00% 8,232,503 26.81% 11,187,674 36.44% -2,955,171 Abnormal
  ORCL $2.810 0.07% 21,274,276 30.93% 25,069,416 36.45% -3,795,140 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Thursday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows XLF with 4,576,576 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.08000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
