December 29, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 5408 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3654 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2793 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Thursday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Financial Select Sector SPDR (NYSE:XLF), Bank of America Corporation (NYSE:BAC), MoSys Inc. (NASDAQ:MOSY), Industrials Select Sector SPDR (NYSE:XLI), Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F), Republic Airways Holdings Inc. (PINK:RJETQ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  XLF $-0.190 -0.01% 11,001,871 28.56% 12,780,195 33.17% -1,778,324 -93,596
  BAC $-0.320 -0.01% 28,923,422 35.63% 31,720,924 39.08% -2,797,502 -87,422
  MOSY $-0.110 -0.34% 1,072,163 18.80% 3,231,355 56.68% -2,159,192 -196,290
  XLI $-0.020 0.00% 1,721,647 22.33% 3,359,200 43.58% -1,637,553 -818,777
  F $-0.020 -0.00% 7,181,695 35.34% 9,038,229 44.48% -1,856,534 -928,267
  RJETQ $-0.019 -0.28% 1,671,393 29.55% 3,984,690 70.45% -2,313,297 -1,217,525
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows XLF down $-0.19000 with a Friction Factor of -93,596 and a Net Volume of -1,778,324. That means that it takes 93,596 more shares of selling than buying to drop XLF by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
