December 23, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 5297 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3820 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2321 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Friday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. China Cord Blood Corporation (NYSE:CO), Petrobras Argentina S.A. (NYSE:PZE), Americann Inc. (OTC:ACAN), United Cannabis Corp (PINK:CNAB), Portola Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ:PTLA), Neothetics (NASDAQ:NEOT). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  CO $0.990 0.19% 230,603 43.64% 172,258 32.60% 58,345 589
  PZE $0.990 0.18% 221,721 28.81% 198,351 25.77% 23,370 236
  ACAN $0.378 0.26% 90,073 52.24% 80,716 46.81% 9,357 247
  CNAB $0.210 0.19% 474,241 69.23% 205,352 29.98% 268,889 12,804
  PTLA $6.270 0.34% 3,328,228 39.42% 3,072,928 36.40% 255,300 407
  NEOT $0.260 0.27% 433,866 39.04% 313,179 28.18% 120,687 4,642
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows CO with a dollar gain Friday of $0.99000 and a Friction Factor of 589 shares. That means that it only took 589 more shares of buying than selling to move CO higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
