December 16, 2016 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 5526 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3088 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3338 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Friday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Bank of America Corporation (NYSE:BAC), KeyCorp (NYSE:KEY), Regions Financial Corporation (NYSE:RF), Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD), AK Steel Holding Corp (NYSE:AKS), The Blackstone Group L.P. (NYSE:BX). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  BAC $-0.520 -0.02% 40,056,275 27.19% 65,606,755 44.54% -25,550,480 -491,355
  KEY $-0.210 -0.01% 4,618,982 18.83% 15,466,081 63.06% -10,847,099 -516,529
  RF $-0.320 -0.02% 7,985,084 19.83% 24,010,135 59.64% -16,025,051 -500,783
  AMD $-0.160 -0.02% 21,436,055 27.65% 36,058,234 46.52% -14,622,179 -913,886
  AKS $-0.190 -0.02% 7,812,202 19.98% 21,347,482 54.61% -13,535,280 -712,383
  BX $-0.260 -0.01% 1,361,261 6.36% 18,768,078 87.75% -17,406,817 -669,493
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows BAC down $-0.52000 with a Friction Factor of -491,355 and a Net Volume of -25,550,480. That means that it takes 491,355 more shares of selling than buying to drop BAC by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
